The long term vision for the University Library is to develop an exemplar digitisation framework, program and capability. We aim to develop standards and quality assurance structures which can be adapted across the University, create a ‘centralised’ digitisation facility equipped with state of the art capture and conversion equipment, the relevant support infrastructure and training facilities to enhance the University e-research, learning and teaching and knowledge engagement strategies while at the same time integrating services to meet the digitisation demands in the corporate operations of the University.
It is envisaged this capability will and be scaled up over a three-year period, as the relevant skills are identified and necessary resources are further developed within the Library. This service is not attempting to undertake all digitisation for the University but acts as the primary means through which standardized and sustainable practices are promulgated
